Green is Good

I thought it was interesting that Pantone chose Honeysuckle, a pink shade, as their Color of the Year for 2011.  The color that keeps catching my attention in both fashion and design is green.  It ranges from peacock to emerald but looks elegant and interesting in every shade.  I already bought a satin envelope clutch from J.Crew (sold out online) to add a little color to my wardrobe and it seems every designer sent green down their runway.  Green is definitely good!

Beautiful. I wrote about blue today. A blue dress and an emerald green dress are on my list to pursue this year.

Obviously not a shy green either!

I totally agree, I love green, especially with navy or grey. Perhaps they felt green was too close to last year’s turquoise?

I use to dislike green… that used to be my least favorite color, then…. I bought a green top, a simple one, but that simple top made me feel so pretty in green! And I started to like green. That tell us, that even if we don’t really like a color, we shouldn’t be afraid of it… we should try, give a chance.

This is just gorgeous… and talking about gorgeous: Sophia Loren! Mama mia! 🙂

I hope you had a great weekend, Heather!

I love green and this was just the inspiration I needed for my own little living room – lots of gray needing a punch of color! You are amazing. =)

  16. The Wizzle January 10, 2011 | 3:46 pm

This is good news – I just painted my bedroom the color of the walls in that very first photo and I’ve been second guessing it. The color is great, I just need to get the rest of the room up to scratch so it does the green justice!

I agree! A green|teal color story seems more ‘on trend’ than honeysuckle pink!

Green, such a wonderful fun and energizing color! My next laundry room is all designed around a wonderful green marble tile I found, Matrix Green by Voguebay. I am hoping that since it is going to be such a beautiful room I will actually want to iron, LOL! xo

  20. Mariss January 10, 2011 | 4:37 pm

Gorgeous inspiration! I think emerald green should have been the pantone color of 2011 instead of hyacinth…

I love green too. Gorgeous rooms and fashion shots!

  22. Jennifer January 10, 2011 | 5:26 pm

Love the post! I’ve been very drawn to the bold green, black and white color palette. Wonderful examples! Thanks!

  23. Pam January 10, 2011 | 5:37 pm

It’s amazing how great everything looks in green! Maybe it’s because I miss being able to see the green grass and am already looking forward to spring. By the way, I love EVERYTHING Chris Benz does.

Green is good, all the time and in many forms. Just not green with envy….. although for some I suppose it is.
Anyway, like these, I am still loving the K.S. bath and after all the time that it has been out and seen. Just great greens!

I’ve always loved green and even think that predominantly green artwork can make a nice addition to an otherwise neutral room. LOVE the dress on the cover of T&C this month.

I was doing very well on not having any shopping cravings; your post has ruined this. Now I need to examine my bank account and choose between the Smythson set, the Miu Miu sandals, or the Prada dress. Maybe I’ll settle for the January issue of Elle (already have T&C). I do like combining blue and green for home decorating; we’re so used to seeing these soothing yet strong colors paired with taupe or brown. Great inspirational photos!

I couldn’t agree with you more! It has been catching my eye lately too. Fortunately, pink and green are so very attractive together.

Ok, I’ll finally just come out and say it. I am so not in love with the Pantone color of the year pick this year. Any shade of green would’ve been much better in my opinion (I’m only a little biased, since green is my absolutely favorite color!). Lovely post and collection of pics.

Wow love this collection of green photos, I have always been a huge green fan. I had a kelly green painted room (my study in my old house much to my husbands horror though he warmed up to it once it was done) and loved it more than any other room.
I own tons of green clothing, a green wallet, green luggage and the list goes on..lol. Great blog and great post!

Green is peaceful. That is a fact. I learned it.

What on earth could we need more that that right now?

Green is a neutral that goes with every single color in the rainbow. It is the color of leaves……trees…….grass……I adore green…..and use it all the time………it is a lovely, peaceful and wonderful color. And every color of green goes with every single other color! Go green!

ps who is talking about clothes and “themselves in green here?” do they have the wrong blog?

I thought this is about interiors!!!
    Wow.

The emerald green is smashing and a springy leaf green would look smashing with honeysuckle. I loved that Town and Country cover, the green totally captivates you.

Heather, I totally agree! Green just works… in fashion, interior design, and almost anything! It never goes out of style, and it incorporates into any style…. from modern, to preppy, to contemporary. There are really no exceptions that I can think of. So, hooray for green… and hooray for your blog!
