Chic in Paris: Hotel La Belle Juliette

Departures had a feature on the best small hotels in Paris today and one colorful option definitely caught my eye.  The Hotel La Belle Juliette is conveniently located in the Sixth and named after Juliette Recamier, the famous salon hostess and sofa namesake. What I really love about this hotel are gorgeous colors and boiseries.  They make me want to repaint my walls in that pale pinky lilac color.  But since my walls were just painted, maybe a trip to Paris is in order to experience them in person. À bientôt!

I had wanted to stay here last November, but they were behind schedule and did not open until the first of the year. Stayed at one of their other hotels. This looks very stylish and charming. Great location in the 6th arrondisement.

Because of that article, I booked The Recamier for my trip in Sept. I loved the location. So excited!

I am spoiled – we lived outside of Paris for 4 years… and spent many nights in the Rive Gauche Hotels (parent company of Belle Juliette). I was back for work last week and spent a night here. It was lovely and the location fantastic especially if you, like me, are a big fan of Le Bon Marche. That said, I actually prefer their other hotel in the 5th – Grande Hommes!

I too read the article in Departures and thought it mentioned Hotel Recaimer. Its website show entirely different photos with beds having canopies. Check it out. Tres Chic
    Headed to Paris in September.

    Hi Heather,
How can you not schedule another trip to Paris? These rooms are gorgeous–the French are truly the masters at color–perfect shading and nuancing (word?). Thanks, Mary

Hotel Recamier is a completely different hotel although also located in St. Germain. I was looking to stay there until I came across the Belle Juliette and quickly change my mind…can’t wait to stay there next week!

I just got back from a few days in Paris at the Hotel des Grandes Ecoles, near the Pantheon. It was my second stay–I found it when living in Brussels and I searched for a hotel with a parking garage. This time, we arrived by train from the south, where I now live (much better weather) and it is still charming. I hear it was in Ines de la Fressange’s book. We had two families, and the hotel was very good to accommodate us with extra beds for the kids, in rooms that were plenty big for them. It’s all grandma decor, with lace and toile de Jouy everywhere, and the most wonderful secret garden. And far cheaper than the options in Departures.
