Finding Faulkner

I’ve seen photos of Hudson, New York based artist and designer Frank Faulkner‘s home before but I never looked at them all together until yesterday.  These actually might encompass more than one home but they give you a sense of his great style and ability to mix flea market finds with aplomb. The living room below reminds me a little of my favorite interior designed for Robert Burke by Todd Romano you can see here. I find masculine spaces more soothing than overly feminine spaces which makes Frank Faulkner one of my new favorite designers.

I like you had seen photos of his work before. However I never knew who the designer behind the gorgeous photos was until I followed a link via pinterest. I too am drawn to more masculine interiors and therefore really enjoy his work!

I think what I find so appealing is the combination of the neutrals ( creams, whites and khakis) with the the shots of black prickled around the room. A sense of strength but also a comfortable and calming space.

Heather, I am smitten with Faulkner’s home. His art, books, baskets, busts, make an incredible and very livable space. Comfortably done with equisite taste.

What handsome interiors, such a wide variety of items brought into harmonious order. Gorgeous house, are those walls marble or faux? Beautiful.

I luv this space, a bit masculine with a twist of gold gilt and ruffled linens.Nice balance with just the right amount of hard and softly done edges.

Neo-classical for the 21st century. Every piece is sculptural by nature.
Thanks for this visually stimulating post.

What I love is that there are spaces with definite moods, there is the sunny garden, the cozy place for intimate dinners, a place to curl up and read, a place to get lost in work, a place to laugh with large groups of drunk friends…
I think a home is about having a special place to be for all your moods!
