Floored

I was thinking today how much I wish I could have my ugly wood floors refinished or painted when I came across this room.  It was designed by San Francisco based interior designer Catherine Kwong for the San Francisco Decorator’s Showcase and features fabulous painted floors.  The abstract white streaks act as the perfect modern counterpoint to the very ornate gold decoration on the ceiling. On her site, Catherine said the room was “inspired by ‘Mick and Bianca Jagger: the Paris years’, and “was such a fun project, and a chance to try new things and collaborate with some of our favorite artists.” Looks like it was a success to me.

I absolutely love this post, wow wow wow! It’s the closest anything has come to my dream NYC apartment… the Window on the World 59th street- Mica Ertegun’s fabulous creation.

Whole room is incredible. The floors are brought up b/c of the architecture. Gorgeous.
