I know many of you have seen these photos before but they deserve to looked at every holiday season which is what I do.  They are of Aerin Lauder‘s house in the Hamptons decorated for Christmas that was featured in the now discontinued House & Garden magazine in 2007.  Even after six years the look remains timeless and classic. You can see more photos of Aerin’s homes in her new book Beauty at Home too.  A perfect last minute present for the holidays.

Does anyone know what the material of the tabletop is? I can’t work it out – I love the mottled black. Is it gypsum, porphyry, marble, oxidised metal? Just scratching my head and wondered if anyone recognises it!
