Chic in Paris: Monsieur Bleu

I just booked my ticket to Paris and one of the places I look forward to visiting when I arrive is the newly renovated Palais de Tokyo. The building is center for modern art, design, fashion, film, literature, and dance. A chic edition to the Palais de Tokyo is the restaurant Monsieur Bleu designed by Joseph Dirand. The interior is an elegant mix of cool marble, glass panel, warm brass, velvet banquettes and Saarinen chairs, and antique mirrors. In lesser hands it might not have worked but conceived of by a master like Joseph Dirand, it’s exquisite. The unique color combination of chartreuse and sage is set off by the dark marble and light glass reflects what’s going on just outside which is a terrace that over looks the Eiffel Tower. It honestly doesn’t get much chicer.  Oh, and the cuisine is isn’t too shabby either.

I was there for lunch in October and loved it–perfect respite after a visit to Branly, with a leisurely stroll afterwards on the new Seine left bank walkway. Enjoy! The people watching is almost as good as the food 😉

Merci pour l’idée! Leaving for Paris on Thursday for the weekend to ring in my b-day avec mon mari. Market cooking class scheduled in the Marais for Sat morning, sips of kir royales by the fire at small hotel in the 6th, fit in a run in/around the Luxembourg Gardens…café cremes, croissants at Flore and/or Deux Magots, strolling about and perhaps a dinner at Monsieur Bleu one of the nights to celebrate. Just read The Paris Wife and A Moveable Feast and very much in a Parisian state of mind. Thanks again for the suggestion…hope they have room for this weekend.

    Beautiful & Cool!
Color Palette reminds me of GUCCI Fall 2014 RTW
