I love receiving fashion designer Jenni Kayne‘s blog Rip + Tan, named after her children.  It’s full of healthy recipes, interesting profiles, and eco-friendly advice.  Maybe it’s because she and her family live in California. I’m also still in awe of her organizational skills that were on display in Martha Stewart Living magazine.  So there was no one else I could possibly ask to write a eco-chic holiday gift guide.  I’m so happy she said yes because she’s introduced me and you to so many wonderful small companies and lovely products. Her cookbook suggestions make me question how she stays in shape so maybe I’l have to ask her to submit her workout routine next time. Enjoy!

My favorite for gift boxes are from Valleybrink Road (above) and  Simone LeBlanc – their sourcing and presentation are impeccable, and they never fail to make a lasting impression.

Also great: this holiday gift pack from Juniper Ridge, featuring an assortment of products that highlight the scents of the Pacific Northwest.

The best holiday gift I ever received was the most incredible Christiane Perrochon vases that my husband Richard gave me last year. They are stunning and make me happy every time I look at them.

[Editor’s Note: That’s Jenni and her husband Richard Ehrlich and their beautiful children Ripley and Tanner above.]

I recently discovered Solstice Canyon’s gourmet almond butters and fell hard and fast. Available in three amazing flavors, the Cardamom & Clove is just perfect for the holidays.

6-jenni-kayne-eco-chic-gift-guide-2014-habituallychic-granola-project

I love granola in all sorts of variations, but my favorite is Lauren Soloff’s simply delicious blend of oats fruits and nuts, Granola Project, which I carry in all of my stores.

The perfect pie dish: this simply beautiful stoneware dish from Farmhouse Pottery, which I sell at my stores.

Also from Farmhouse Pottery, and a great holiday gift: this set of Vermont Maple Syrup with small bell pitcher, which I have this holiday season in my stores as the perfect gift.

For a beautiful cup of tea, I can’t resist this Douglas Fir Spring Tip blend, from Juniper Ridge. Featuring a wonderfully light taste and lemony forest aroma, it is made from 100% Douglas Fir spring tips harvested in the Pacific Northwest.

Any Elder Statesman cashmere piece is a winning gift.

11-jenni-kayne-eco-chic-gift-guide-2014-habituallychic-smudge-sticks

I’m a big fan of smudge sticks, as much for their cleansing abilities as for their amazing scents. Some to try: these cedar bundles from Etsy.

12-jenni-kayne-eco-chic-gift-guide-2014-habituallychic-incense

My all-time favorite incense, Pinon, from Incense of the West, emits the most amazing subtle, woodsy scent, making it the perfect thing to burn around the holidays.

13-jenni-kayne-eco-chic-gift-guide-2014-habituallychic-feu_de_bois

My favorite candle, Diptyque Feu De Bois, has the most comforting, fireside scent. I burn it all year long.

14-jenni-kayne-eco-chic-gift-guide-2014-habituallychic-christmas-spray

I love everything from Juniper Ridge. Some great picks for this time of year: the Christmas Fir Cabin Spray, White Sage Smudge Sticks, and Dessert Pinon Campfire Incense.

15-jenni-kayne-eco-chic-gift-guide-2014-habituallychic-

I have a Hanukkah party every year with the same family and friends and it’s super fun.  My son Tanner and I always choose a homemade gift to give – last year we infused olive oils and vinegars, and this year we’re putting together gingerbread cookie dough and cute recipes to go with.

16-jenni-kayne-eco-chic-gift-guide-2014-habituallychic-hip-flask

For the cocktail enthusiasts, I love this gorgeous Sol & Luna leather flask, available at my stores.

17-jenni-kayne-eco-chic-gift-guide-2014-habituallychic-winter-cocktails

For seasonally inspired recipes, I love Maria del Mar Sacasa’s Winter Cocktails.

18-jenni-kayne-eco-chic-gift-guide-2014-habituallychic-dram-apothecary

Dram Apothecary’s small batch bitters are handmade using the finest and organically grown exotic fruits, barks and berries, and make the perfect addition to juice, tea, sparkling water, or your favorite cocktail.

19-jenni-kayne-eco-chic-gift-guide-2014-habituallychic-mason-shaker

A favorite for Southern charm and entertaining: The Mason Cocktail Shaker from W&P Design. Even better: the Mason Cocktail Kit, which includes a canvas and leather bag, Mason Shaker, muddler, jigger, linen napkins and glass Picardie tumblers.

The most beautiful cookbook, Maggie’s Harvest is a must on a kitchen shelf.

Some other great cookbooks for the holidays include:

Me: If money were no object, what would you like to see under the tree this year?

Jenni: A set of BDDW ceramic mugs…amazing.

Me: I can see why. They are beautiful!
