I arrived in Miami to find 80 degree temperatures and the nicest people at the new Miami Beach Edition Hotel.  I stayed at their other hotel in London so I was excited to see how they tweaked the design for this edition. The wood and upholstery are lighter and the room feels brighter. They give you plenty of room to work and spread out which is nice.  I love the big bed and ample counter space and the wallpapered closet was a lovely surprise.  Since the hotel just opened they are working out a few kinks but the staff really are beyond sweet and helpful.

The lobby and outdoor areas are gorgeous too and I hope to get some photos for you tomorrow.  The Edition was previously home to the historic Seville Hotel on Collins Avenue and Ian Schrager and Marriott have given the 1955 building a fresh new look. The lobby is the place to hang out this week and I’ve already run into people I know.

But don’t worry, I will also see some art tomorrow at the press preview for Art Basel.  I hope to also make it to Design Miami and a few other places and will keep you posted.
