Another Fabulous Paris Apartment
The flowers and trees always bloom earlier in Paris than New York which always makes me jealous. My new dream is to own an apartment in Paris where I can spend a few months each year. Since that wish is probably going to take a little while, I’m going to keep pouring over all the details is this fabulous Place de Vosges apartment. It was designed by Marianne Tiegen for a British family who wanted “furnishings to honor the history of the building with its lofty windows and tall ceilings, but to be perfectly usable for a busy, modern, young family.”
The floorplan wasn’t altered so the original classic herringbone floors, mantles, and kitchen built-ins were the basis around which new built-ins were created to look as though they were always part of the apartment. The posters and photography instead of gilt framed oil paintings are what help create the young and modern atmosphere.
