As we all know now, Instagram has the ability to bring people together. I was explaining to my friend this weekend that it’s because you can immediately tell that you have  common interests and style.

I met Belgian interior designer and antiques dealer David de Decker-Thissen on Instagram and then in real life in Paris in October 2015. We met at the Marché aux Puces de Vanves and it was amazing to watch him be able to immediately spot what was good and also what was not worth buying from each vendor.

As an interior designer, David helped Julie of French Manoir pull her French manor home together. Now David has recently bought his own house in the French countryside and it’s been fun to watch him decorate it on Instagram.

David describes his style as “a seamless blend of European old-world elegance with a modern sensibility resulting in a unique style and atmosphere. Thanks to the knowledge and appreciation for the past, the interiors I create aren’t historical but show a lot of respect for the past. All of this off course viewed through a modern eye.”

Parfait.
