Thank you for all the lovely ten year blog anniversary messages and comments. By the way, did you know you can leave comments on blog posts again? I’ve responded to all of them on Instagram but I’m still trying to get through all the emails. I really appreciate all the love and continued support.

To celebrate my ten year blog anniversary, I knew I wanted to take a trip. I had been talking with my friend in Utah about going back to Napa when I was serendipitously invited to Napa. It could not have been more perfect except that my schedule and my friend’s schedule couldn’t match up until August. We will fly JetBlue Mint from JFK to San Francisco where we will stay at the Four Seasons for a few days first.

My dear friend Grant Gibson has already offered to show me all the new stores and has generously invited us to dinner in his home. We also have a dinner scheduled at Garibaldi’s which is my favorite restaurant in San Francisco. I look forward to stopping by March, Hudson Grace, and Allison Caccoma‘s new store on Sacramento Street too.

After San Francisco, we’ll drive to Napa and check into Auberge du Soleil. We still haven’t finalized the wineries we’ll visit but I wouldn’t mind stopping by Swanson. If you have any other recommendations, please let me know. I would also love to stop by Meadowood and Calistoga again. I really enjoyed both on my list visit to Napa in 2014.

I’m also excited to stop by The Sequoia in San Francisco seen in these photos. It is a chic cocktail club founded by Tyler Florence and decorated by Ken Fulk. The space may be new but it was designed to look like a 1930’s speakeasy mixed with a gentleman’s club. I love all the dark banker’s green banquettes and tables in the main lounge and the whiskey vault built into the old bank vault.

Happy Anniversary Heather! I have been reading your blog for years and I can truly say it has remained one of my favorites. Thank you for the beautiful way you start my day! Enjoy your trip! I love Inglenook Winery for the wines and the outdoor space, truly transporting. A recent find was Boswell Vineyards, which is all in a cave, perfect for a hot day and the wines were amazing. And Gloria Ferrer is a wonderful change of pace when you need a day of white and bubbles. Do the tasting menu with the chefs seasonal bites, it’s a joy!

Hi Heather, will you be making any public appearances while in San Francisco?

HC, would you contemplate stretching your legs further than Napa into Sonoma County? I’d be delighted to host you at our new winemaking facility in Windsor and could direct you to a few great places just a few miles north in Healdsburg. Last night I poured our wines at March, stunning merchandise this season. Have a beautiful trip!

Hi Erin, Thank you for the invitation but our trip is already planned. I’ll keep you in mind for a future trip though.
