Beautiful in Buenos Aires

I’m trying to get better at reading each night instead of getting sucked into social media. This includes the stacks of magazines piling up in addition to all the new books I just bought. My favorite feature in one of the November magazines is this apartment by architect Carlos Aparicio in Buenos Aires in Elle Decor. When he bought the space in 2008, it hadn’t been touched by the owners since it was decorated by Maison Jansen in the 1930’s and didn’t even have hot water. Now it is the perfect mix of antiques and art that makes me feel like I could move right in and not change much of anything. Carlos doesn’t get to the apartment that often which is the saddest part of the story but I’m going to have to find out if he ever rents it out.

Wow, that is gorgeous. The only hiccup to me is that the living room, while beautiful, doesn’t seem conducive to conversation with the furniture spread so far. I still love it. And all the other rooms, too. Traditional furniture that doesn’t seem stuffy.

I very much like the elegance that traditional furniture brings. And always a fan of ceiling medallions. Really beautiful!
