I normally wouldn’t write about historic homes back to back but this one was too good not to post. Today is Valentino’s best friend and business partner Giancarlo Giammetti’s birthday. Over the weekend he celebrated with a very chic crowd of friends at the Palacio dos Marqueses de Fronteira in Lisbon, Portugal. The privately owned home and amazing gardens which are open for tours and special events provided a beautiful backdrop for the birthday dinner and party. If you’ve ever read the book Valentino: At the Emperor’s Table, you know that the Valentino team know how to set an elegant table and this weekend was no exception. The pale green linens, blue and white plates, blush stemware, silver bowls of fruit, and beautiful bouquets of flowers were a breath of fresh air. Lisbon has been on my must visit list but I think it’s moved up a few notches after seeing this house.
