Legacy Records is not very conveniently located unless you are visiting or exhibiting at the Javitz Center. But the chic new restaurant might be worth the trek. Legacy Records is the latest project from Delicious Hospitality, the team behind downtown restaurants Charlie Bird & Pasquale Jones. The new space at the Hudson Yards includes an 85-seat restaurant, a walk up café, two private dining rooms with kitchens, and an upstairs wine and cocktail bar. The owners tapped interior design Ken Fulk to design Legacy Records after experiencing his work at The Battery in San Francisco. The interiors take their inspiration from the recording studio that was once located on the site with lots of teak wood, white marble, brass, and leather. The upstairs mural behind the bar by San Francisco artist Chris Lux is based on his interpretation of Marvin Gaye’s I Want You album cover. My friend went last week and said Legacy Records is definitely the newest see and be seen place in New York.  Looks like I’ll be making a pilgrimage to Hell’s Kitchen soon.
