Planning for Nantucket

As I mentioned recently, I have never visited Nantucket. But that’s about to change. I decided to check airfare and hotel rates after I returned from Sag Harbor. I had a feeling I might be able to sneak in after the Nantucket Film Festival and before everyone arrived for the 4th of July holiday and I was right. I leave in two weeks and I could not be more excited. I’ve been researching places to go and asking all my Nantucket expert friends for their advice. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. I’ll be staying at the Roberts Collection. And before you tell me to stay somewhere else, many hotels were already booked or prohibitively expensive.

In honor of my trip, I’d thought I’d post the beautiful Nantucket home of Coco and Arie Kopelman that was featured in Architectural Digest in July 2012. The 1808 house was actually moved from another location in 1903 and the Kopelmans lived in it for years before it was decided that it needed to undergo a two year renovation with architect Lisa Botticelli of the Nantucket firm Botticelli & Pohl. Sandi Holland of Nantucket House Antiques and Interior Design Studios helped with the interior design which is a mix of period pieces and casual wicker to create the perfect family retreat.
