It’s finally warm enough to wear dresses in New York and I could not be more excited. I already turned over my closet and realized that most of my dresses are either blue, blue striped, or black so it’s time to add a little more life into my wardrobe for this spring and summer. My birthday is also coming up so I’m trying to decide to what to wear to the luncheon I have scheduled with my friends. I’ve put together some options for myself and for you in case you want to refresh your dress options.

When I first saw this Poplin Embroidered Dress, I thought how much more I would like it without the collar. Then I realized that the collar is removable. It’s more than I would usually spend on a white dress but I love the lace details. It would be the perfect dress for my birthday but I also think it would be lovely for a rehearsal dinner or bridal shower. It’s paired with the white Capri Flat Lace Up Sandals but I’d wear it with the yellow version for a pop of color.

I saw this striped fabric is a two piece set and wished it came in a dress and then I saw that it did. I love all the the colors of this Striped Crepe de Chine Midi Dress and looks like it would be a perfect April birthday dress. I’d pair it with these Lavender Slingback Flats.

I not only love the “Tuscan Orange” color of this Belted Cotton Shirtdress but also that you can wear it unbelted for a more relaxed look. I’d pair it with these Castañer x Paul Smith Woven Striped Ribbon Flat Espadrilles that I already bought myself for spring.

I don’t think the photo does this Embroidered Linen Voile Dress justice. The intricate embroidered cutout and covered buttons would make this another beautiful dress for a wedding reception or bridal shower. Pair it with White Satin and Jute Wedge Espadrilles if your event is outdoors.

I’m very particular about prints but I love the one on this Tiered Long-Sleeve Floral Midi Dress. I’d wear it with these Yellow Python T-Strap Sandals to pull out the yellow in the pattern.

This Shoulder Tied Tiered Paisley Cotton Maxi Dress would be pretty for when the weather warms up even more. If you like the look of The Row Bare Sandals, these Leather Strappy Sandals are a much more reasonably priced option at $118 and the tan color would be perfect with this dress.

The Staud Vincent Dress is a summer stable that I would buy in every color. I’d pair the white and black versions with the white/grey T-Strap Flat Python Sandals I have on one of my spring wishlists.

This Navy and White Striped Shirtdress would be great for Zoom meetings now and to transition back to the real office. I’d wear this dress with bright blue Snakeskin Halter Sandals for a ladylike look.

I was influenced to buy this Blue Cotton Shirtdress that is only $28.88. It’s the perfect work from home dress and was very nice looking when it arrived so I ordered the navy version too. If I wanted to elevate it more, I’d change the buttons which is very easy. It would also be a great dress if you have a new baby or young kids who get you dirty. It would also make a great dress for an artist or a gardener who wants to protect themselves from the sun. Speaking of sun, the white version would be a perfect cover up for the pool or beach and you don’t have to worry if your sunscreen gets on it. There are seven colors to choose from and it runs true to size but takes almost a month for delivery. I plan to wear it with these Yellow Suede Ballet Flats that I should arrive tomorrow.

I love the sweet but comfortable look of this Broderie Anglaise Cotton Poplin Midi Dress. I’d pair it with these Tan Leather Strappy Sandals.

How pretty is this Floral Midi Dress? It’s the perfect summer garden party dress and I’d pair it with these Orange Snakeskin Halter Sandals to match the orange flowers.

I’d wear this Sporty Striped Ribbed Knit Midi Dress with plain white sneakers or the Orange Snakeskin Halter Sandals for a dressier look.

It doesn’t get more romantic for spring and summer than this Floral Linen Dress. I’d pair it with these pale yellow Leather Strappy Sandals.

I love the sunny preppy look of this Yellow and White Striped Shirtdress so I’d probably wear it without the macrame belt. I’d pair the dress with teal T-Strap Python Sandals instead of a matching shoe.

There is something so sweet about a Liberty Print Dress for spring. Add a pale pink Suede Ballet Flat to complete the look.

I would wear this Crochet-Trimmed Linen Midi Dress on the shoulder and with Pink Leather Strappy Heeled Sandals.

The brand of this Printed Silk Long-Sleeve Maxi Dress is a favorite of celebrities but it’s not that crazy expensive so you can feel like a movie star too. I’d pair it with these Flat Leather Sandals in either the tan or pink color.

Odile Jacobs is a new to me designer and I love this Printed Waxed Cotton Midi Dress. I’d dress it up with plumy purple colored T-Strap Python Sandals.

This off-white Button-Down Midi Dress is another pretty option for wedding events if you’re the bride. I’d wear it with pale mint Cross Strap Leather Block Heel Sandals.

Rickie Freeman for Teri John is new to me but I love their size inclusive line that runs from 2-18. This Paisley-Printed Midi Shirtdress is perfect for those who don’t like pastels. Pair it with black Cross Strap Leather Block Heel Sandals.

I love a plain navy dress in the summer because you can wear it with so many different accessories. This Gathered Cotton Poplin Midi Dress is a chic option but this navy Gathered Organic Cotton Jersey Midi Dress is a tenth of the price. Add a pretty pop of color with these pink Suede Buckle Slide Sandals.

This Floral Lace Midi Dress would be pretty for an outdoor wedding or your rehearsal dinner. Add some extra romance with these faux pearl-embellished rubber slingback sandals.

This belted floral-print cotton-khadi dress would look pretty at the beach or in the city. I’d add these simple yet chic leather espadrille platform sandals.

If you need a dress for an event but are on a budget, this mint green Long-Sleeved Dress. You could add matching pale mint Cross Strap Leather Block Heel Sandals or gold knotted block-heel sandals.

Another perfect white Floral Lace Midi Shirtdress for wedding festivities if you’re the bride. I’d pair it with purple colored T-Strap Python Sandals or beige Portofino leather sandals.

This Floral Silk Jacquard Long-Sleeve Ruched Dress is a beautiful dress for any spring or summer event. I’d pair it with Glitter Slide Sandals.

Have a really big event to celebrate this spring or summer, how about this Metallic Jacquard Puff-Sleeve Shirt Dress. It is $530 but looks like it costs three times as much. I’d pair it with these special Metallic Feather Slingback Sandals or these Block Heel Metallic Leather Sandals.

Happy Spring!

XOXO,
