One of my favorite Instagram accounts belongs to Valerie Leberichel who is the Paris based Communication and External Relations Director of the Italian brand Miu Miu. She’s probably the one people who has the most similar style to my own. Her wardrobe is based on classic pieces that can be mixed and matched which are punctuated with interesting accessories. I always think about the fashion advice that I have followed for years which is “always wear something to amuse the eye” and it looks like Valerie subscribes to the same rule of thumb.

I’ve put together some outfits based on her best looks that are easy to replicate.

The first outfit starts with a classic neutral duffle coat that gets mixed with neutral sweaters or a blue shirts.

This first hooded wool duffle coat looks almost identical to the one Valerie wears but her toggle closures look braided. The second wool toggle coat is the camel version of the one I own in navy. The leather trim adds a modern touch. If toggles aren’t your thing, I love this double-breasted wool and cashmere-blend coat.

If you can wear men’s sizes, this recycled wool coat is a less expensive toggle coat option. This double-breasted wool coat is a less expensive camel coat.

With the duffle coat, Valerie wears a crewneck sweater, a blue shirt, and a turtleneck and these are my suggestions to replicate the look. A beige cashmere sweater, blue organic cotton-poplin shirt, and taupe luxe cashmere turtleneck

It looks like she’s wearing black pants and these black full-length Cameron pants in four-season stretch are my favorite pair. Other alternatives are these black leather leggings and black belted woven straight-leg pants.

You can’t see what shoes Valerie is wearing so I’d suggest these black suede ankle boots or a pair of sneakers like these nylon and suede sneakers or black Nike Daybreak sneakers.

Her accessories for this outfit include sunglasses like these wire-frame aviator sunglasses and a thick ribbed scarf like this ribbed cashmere scarf. She also wear a leather keyring from the brand Del’ep. I was looking for something chic like the products from this brand for when I want to walk and not take a bag. I will certainly be ordering keyring or one of the leather card holders.

Of course, the grey coat outfit is one I don’t have to buy anything to replicate since I never met a grey coat I didn’t like. I’d just switch out the grey scarf for my Heidi Wynne Habitually Chic Signature Scarf.

My suggestions for grey coats are this charcoal waterfall lapel double face wool and cashmere coat, medium grey wool-blend coat, and pale grey scarf-detailed wool coat.

A blue striped shirt is a favorite of Valerie and I like this striped cotton broadcloth shirt, striped cotton-poplin shirt, and striped cotton shirt.

For the grey sweater, you can’t go wrong with the $75 cashmere sweater in charcoal and pale grey. I also really love the feminine details on this ribbed wool-blend turtleneck sweater.

Valerie wears ripped jeans but I prefer these chic styles, high-rise slim-leg jeans, the bomb pop, and dark high-rise slim-leg jeans.

The only shoes you can see Valerie wearing with this outfit is Birkenstocks on a weekend. I’d also recommend from top to bottom bow-detailed suede mules, suede point-toe loafers, suede ballet flats, and Gola sneakers.

She also doesn’t carry a bag in any of the outfits above so I suggest these options. Clockwise from top left, leather-trimmed suede shoulder bag, small smooth-leather cross-body bag, Saint Laurent Maillon medium leather shoulder bag, Celine Medium Cabas 16 In Textile and Calfskin, and medium textured-leather shoulder bag.

This wool blazer outfit is one of my favorite looks that Valerie wears and it can be easily replicated too.

I couldn’t find an exact match for the blazer but these are similar, silk herringbone-twill blazer, faux suede-paneled checked wool-tweed blazer, and blazer in Italian cotton-linen herringbone. For a less expensive option, try this wool blazer.

It’s hard to find great thin layering turtlenecks like the one Valerie wears but these are similar, alpaca-blend turtleneck sweater, cashmere turtleneck sweater, and ribbed cashmere turtleneck sweater.

Other denim options I like are the curvy toothpick jean, high-rise slim-leg jeans, and high-rise ’90s classic straight jeans.

Valerie wears a chunky gold bracelet like these clockwise starting from top left, round cable link chunky bracelet, chunky gold bracelet, curb chain toggle bracelet, and gold-plated bracelet.

The ribbed cashmere scarf is worn with many of her outfits. She also wears these cool black aviator acetate sunglasses and black leather shoulder bag. A less expensive but similar pair of sunglasses are these tortoise shell aviator sunglasses.

Additional items to add to the base wardrobe would be a checked menswear coat like this guncheck coat. I also like this menswear inspired double-breasted wool coat. A less expensive option is this belted check blazer.

Add some pizzazz to your menswear look or jeans with gold flats. I love these from top to bottom, metallic crystal buckle flats, Larroude gold flats, and glitter fabric pointed-toe flats.

You can also add in a navy wool coats like this slim tailored coat and wool blend coat. A less expensive option is this buttoned wool coat.

I love Tapper and Valerie wears their silver plated AirPods Pro neck case and adds a pop of fun with Hotlips by Solange silver and pink enamel ring. You can get the look for less with these acrylic lip rings.

You also need a great trench coat in Paris. I recommend this Another Tomorrow organic cotton-blend trench coat and Toteme organic-cotton gabardine trench coat. For a less expensive option, try this cotton classic trench coat

You can also add a pop of lavender to your neutral outfits for some color like Valerie. It’s hard to find pretty lavender sweaters but I like this cashmere bouclé cable-sleeve sweater and this paler cashmere classic-fit crewneck sweater. You could also try this less expensive contrasting knit sweater.

Also, I know I’ve slacked off on the blog a little bit this January but I’m really trying to get back on track and post more fashion in February.

Bon week-end!

XOXO,
