A Flair for Living

02 . 21 . 08“The true spirit of hospitality is about sharing the pleasure that you derive from living with beauty.” – Charlotte Moss
Charlotte Moss’s eagerly anticipated new book A Flair for Living will be released in May and can be preordered on her website. It is touted as “her most elegant and personal design book to date, Moss will tempt you into the world of the refined by offering a lavish tour of every component of a home.” I know I am very excited to own what looks to be a very beautiful book indeed!

Thanks, Ms. Chic — I didn’t know that there was a new title coming and I am still in love with Winter House. Yay!
Fabulous, I’ll have to put that on my wish list too!
Ah…I think I might need this book! I was so sad that I never made it to her store when I was in NY.
CB, I’m a little miffed that I had to read about it on the CM website. They could have at least sent me a little heads up email but I will still buy it and savor it I’m sure!
Suzy, Did you ever get the Tony Duquette book???
Me, Myself and I, that just calls for another trip! There is always the online shop if you need a little fix.
Thanks for the tip. I did not know about the book, but will definitely look out for it. Great blog, by the way! You have really great photos.
Tonic Home, You are welcome! And thanks for noticing the photos. When I started my blog, it was very important to me to choose clear and beautiful photos and to highlight great photographers and their work.
Look at her. I want to look JUST like her when I am her age. She always looks chic.
Decorno, Don’t we all! She’s a tough cookie but also very nice and gracious.
H. Chic… first off great blog – I’ve been following you for quite some time but this is the first time I’ve commented… I was so disappointed with Flair for Living that I had to say something… first off I make regular trips to the store and have seen her on many occasions – the cover doesn’t even look like her! Ithink it’s been touched up quite a bit… for me this book equated to seeing what appears to be the most delicious cupcake only to buy it, take a bite and find it dry and lacking flavor… What is up with those collages? What relevance do they have to the book? I was craving descriptive photographs and text relating to “A Flair for Living”… all I got was useless fluffy text in a 50 font… is it a design book, a how to book, an autogiography or some strange hybrid of all of the above? I resold my copy on B&N the day after I bought it to recoup some of the money I spent so I didn’t feel completely taken advantage of… once again – major disappointment… you never said what you thought about it…
