Vera Wang staged her first runway show for her less expensive Lavender Label collection at the chic new hotspot Bobo, remember the one with the chic black chairs, and I must say, it was the perfect backdrop to the vintage inspired looking pieces.

Wang explained that the Lavender line’s color palate was inspired by the painter Kees van Dongen, and the look was drawn from the Chinese cult film, In the Mood for Love, which is about Shanghai in the 1950s and 60s. “It’s really beautiful and kind of dark, mysterious, sophisticated-sexy”, said Wang. Sounds good to me!

I know I’ve said it before, but I will say it again. In The Mood For Love was absolutely stunning – those dresses on Maggie Cheung were so elegant. (I remember reading some were literally sewn onto her.) I watch that movie over and over for her fabulous dresses and the hauntingly beautiful music.

Looking forward to checking out Vera Wang’s Lavender Label in more detail even more now!

Alice, I have yet to see the movie. I am going to have to go put it on my Netfix Queue right now! I was also checking out the Lavender Label dresses for spring and I think I might have to go shopping this weekend!
