If Madonna Calls, I’m Not Here

I knew Madonna was chic but in her new video for Give it 2 Me directed by fashion photographer Tom Munroe, she shakes her groove thing in what appears to be David Hicks wallpaper. Seeing as it was shot in London, it’s entirely possible and looks fabulous regardless of who made it. Funny how I noticed the wallpaper before her thighs. I think I need to go to the gym now. Sigh.

she is in such good shape, it makes just about everyone under the age of 40 jealous. It’s just not fair.

It makes everyone over the age of 40 jealous too. Then again, I would have the same dedication with a chef, private trainer and enough money to pay my bills ( and then some ) so all I had to do was concentrate on my body. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could ALL have that ( and great thighs too ) ?

    SHE IS ALWAYS THE BEST….

disagree. your blog is usually super but when it goes into madonna, sex and the city territory, that is neither chic nor tasteful but trash.

HC – I love Madonna so thanks for the great picture….

but as far as the wallpaper goes – back in the 70’s I worked in an office with very similarly papered walls….by the end of the second week I had a headache to end all headaches EVERY work day….turns out the wallpaper was messing with my eyes. After it was replaced – no more headaches.

So that pattern in small areas is good…but not for a large area that you are confined to for 7 hours straight.

Funny post! I didn’t notice her thighs either; the mouth agape was kinda jarring. Now I think I need to hit the gym too, though.

Ooh yes…or like a giant, sorta modified, Goyard bag. I would hit the gym, as well, but I know that if I keep eating these chips and dip, my glutes will surpass Madonna’s in no time. And then I will scoop A-Rod up and steal her country home as well. (wink!)

Why, oh why, are all bloggers who want to leave nasty or negative comments always called anonymous? Just show your name if you stand behind your words.
Thighs, what thighs? Oh yes, there they are. Almost didn’t recognize them because they look nothing like mine.

My previous comment was purely professional. I work in advertising, and have been an art director for 20 years. No offense was intended if that’s why my comment was not posted. Sorry.

I had no idea this post would garner such an interesting response. I did choose not to publish some comments, mostly since my parent’s read my blog and ALL of the comments, so please try to keep them clean and parent-friendly. Thanks.

I beg you all to forgive me for still not understanding her appeal beyond the 80s. I know she’s an icon now but I think she looks like a tranny (that is said in a total Christian-from-Project-Runway and hopefully not parent-unfriendly way) although not so much in this pic. But I do love the wallpaper. I wish I had had some help selecting the paper I just had put up in our foyer (and up to second floor) because I selected a paper that looked BEAUTIFUL in a small swatch but was SO BUSY on the walls and darker-looking than I had anticipated. I’m not even sure ordering a roll would’ve helped because I loved it when they were first putting it up. It wasn’t until one wall was done that I developed vertigo. Unfortunately, I couldn’t really return it so I let them continue and I hate it. This is my tres long-winded way of asking if you have any tips or rules of thumb for choosing wallpaper for small spaces or bigger spaces like this particular one (old house if that matters)? Thanks! Also, I can’t wait to see the Bachelor Pad!
