Sometimes you just never know where the day will take you in New York. I had plans to meet someone for drinks but then someone else invited us to a penthouse roof party with some pretty intimidating creative people but of course we couldn’t say no and boy were we glad we didn’t. One of the people at the party was Shamir Shah, an architect and interior designer with his own firm, who has also designed some pretty impressive residential buildings and commercial spaces. I like that his style is consistent but tailors the design to the space and probably the client. Some are more spare and modern while others are more detailed and colorful. I think we’re going to be hearing more about him for a long time to come.

Beautiful, clean rooms that still feel so inviting. That can be a difficult balance and it is certainly achieved in these rooms!

Also, love the post & comments on how often do you iron & who are you sleeping on. I’m glad I found your blog! I look forward to reading it every day!

Crimany!!! I could move in today…. Love the chairs, the art, everything…exactly my taste.

I don’t know how you find TIME to iron. HC, sleep is good from time to time. 😉

Lissa, I always think a sign of good design is if you want to move in as is!

I have been running on adrenaline lately! I am so busy but I guess it’s better than being bored!

from what i’ve been reading in terms of all the things that you select to profile, habitually chic can do better than this guy. i bet.

Anonymous – To each his own.

I will say that not all of his designs reflect my style but I admire the fact that he has gone out and started his own firm and built his own buildings. What have you done lately?

    HC-
Still, I like your design aesthetic best, but these are dreamy and have a 70’s glam to them in a chic and smart way, balancing new with the old. I could shake, shimmy and cha cha in one of those Shamir Shaw spots. Oh, that pool makes me want to do a cannonball!

beautiful rooms. i especially like whatever it is they did to that wall to give it kind of a splatter paint effect. and that foyer is stunning.
