When the Design Director of Bilhuber and Associates, Kevin Isbell, asked me to be his plus one to the book launch party for Defining Luxury:The Qualities of Life at Home, I didn’t have to think twice! Jeffrey Bilhuber is already a design legend and his new book is beyond gorgeous! The photographs by Trel Brock pop off the page! I never realized that Jeffrey Bilhuber used so much color so that was a welcome treat! It was fun meeting Trel and hearing the stories of how Jeffrey and his team would work all week and travel to the shoots every weekend! A lot of hard work went into this book and I can guarantee you will enjoy it!

So glad Jeffrey’s new book is out. He is one designer that is willing to share more than most in his books. In his last book; Design Basics: Expert Solutions for Designing the House of Your Dreams he shares 3 to 4 different floorplans which illustrate his thoughts on designing for the client. I personally have used this book many times as inspiration for pushing my space planning towards a new direction.
Can’t wait to buy Defining Luxury!

Thanks for the heads up. Will be looking for a copy and previous book as well. Photo 5 would have been a nice addition to my last nights post… decor through the looking glass.

HC – Thanks for the post. It is making me long for a little yellow in my updated farmhouse. So far I have spicy pumpkin orange, dill pickle green and gray…but yellow….

Quite honestly, Bilhuber is a living legend. His work is exquisite and without error in my eyes! I am ecstatic he has released a new book (already) – I feel like I just bought his last one. He’s one of my idols 🙂

Talk about Chic people and style how did you snag an invite from Kevin,I am jealous. He is the design director at Billhuber and have met him at a few design functions. He defines, creative and flawless execution. Talk about someone who deserves a book deal!

how fun for you! i’ve always admired mr. bilhuber’s work- so classic, yet always feels fresh and modern too. if your friend kevin is bilhuber’s design director, i bet he is more than a little responsible for all that gorgeousness.
