Christmas Memories

I was telling my friend Kelly recently about my favorite Christmas memory and she couldn’t believe that I had one. It happened one Christmas when I feel asleep on the sofa waiting for Santa. The next morning I awoke in my room with a new canopy bed with Holly Hobbie bedspread and linens as if by magic. I think it was also the same year that I received a doll house. Now you know why it was so memorable. Do you have a favorite Christmas or special holiday memory?

I don’t know how a young lady could have a better Christmas memory than that!!!

When I was about 6 [and my brother 4] someone at Santa headquarters decided that we were getting identical presents. To avoid competition and jealousy. “Advanced” thinking in 1965. Anyhow, I really wanted a tom tom drum. The upshot of this was that I got a tom tom. My brother did too. All our relatives found out I wanted a drum and they all gave tom toms also. We had about 20 tom toms. Each. In a little 1000 sq. ft house buried in the Northern Wisconsin snow. A memorable Christmas for me. More so for my parents!!!! That was the end of the “identical presents” experiment!!

Thanks for sharing the great photo. I hope you had a wonderful day.

Having Christmas at my Aunt Kate’s with family and gazing at her lovely pink Christmas tree – and having “eskimo pies!”

What a coincidence, when my daughter was six (she’s 34 now!) We did the same thing, completely decorated her room with Holly Hobbie including her own rocking chair with Holly Hobbie fabric pillows. She still has the rocking chair, but different pillows.

I was expecting it to be the Christmas you got the REAL Cabbage Patch Kid and the rest of us got the plastic, but no less coveted, ones. Wow, this story was even better! I’m going to have to stop by you mom’s house soon and congratulate her on that one. What a Christmas coup!

My best Christmas memory? The year my grandfather got me my first red bike.

This looks so much like my Xmas photos as a child. I wish I had a scanner! Happy New Year chica…

What a great memory – like A Little Princess. And Holly Hobbie no less.

Hope this Christmas was memorable as well.

    Look how cute you are!

Ooooh, I loved the Christmas that Santa brought me my dollhouse. It had a quilted pink satin chaise lounge–FANCY.
