More Orange

One of the rooms I was most excited to see at The Hampton Designer Showhouse this year was the den by Carrier and Company. I had seen a few photos online at Vogue.com and of course the burnt orange walls were right up my alley! The room with sitting area and pool table is in the basement and the husband and wife team of Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller did a great job with it. You don’t even notice that there are no windows!

Jesse Carrier used to work for Jeffrey Bilhuber and when he left to start his own firm, uber chic client Anna Wintour went with him. Carrier & Company have designed the lobby of the Vogue office at 4 Times Square and have also decorated the apartments some of the Voguettes.

I think we’re going to be hearing a lot from this dazzling design duo and I can’t wait to see what they do with a room in a future showhouse with windows! I think they deserve to be front and center next time! Oh, and if you haven’t had a chance to see the Hampton Designer Showhouse presented by Traditional Home in person yet, you still have until September 6th to check it out!

Perhaps you’ve orange on the brain due to your upcoming trip to Paris… I, for one, can’t think of Paris without those little orange boxes from Hermes! By the way, in St Germain des Pres near the Mabillion metro stop there is a great depot vente called Les Trois Marche de Catherine B which sells vintage (as well as merely used) Hermes. Worth popping into to!

I took your advice and went to the Hamptons Designer Showhouse last weekend. I really enjoyed seeing what each designer did with their space. It definitely gets the creative juices going.

Wow, an orange pool table. I’ve never seen one of those before. Very cool

    That second shot is lovely.

Remember JFK and Jackie when you get to Versailles! What a magnificent evening it must have been…

Beautiful images! My favourite is the last one with the consoletable!

I scored a great knock off of the orange chinese urn used as a side table in shot #2 a couple of weeks ago – $40 marked down from $150+. My husband doesn’t believe me that this is indeed an indoor piece and can be used as a side table…This post is going to make fantastic evidence!

I’m going with neutrals for the rug and sofa and walls and orange and green as the accent colours – so loving these last couple of posts!

I love this room! The orange (coral) is fantastic–love the counterpoint of the little Venetian console. Counting the days.

Christina, do you have the same orange urn lamp as the one in the picture? It’s a very unique piece, and definitely something I would love to have.
