Changes in Latitudes.Changes in Attitudes

Every year, I say that I want to spend New Year’s somewhere warm and sunny and every year, I spend it in cold New York. Except for the year I spent it in even colder Stockholm but that’s a story for another day. After seeing Oscar and Annette de la Renta’s Punta Cana house in the Dominican Republic, I feel like trying to finally make this dream a reality! While I can’t stay at their not so humble abode seen in these photos, I could make do at the also chic Puntacana Resort. Anyone else want to come?

Ohhh…that sounds so nice right about now. I know our 40 degree lows here in D-Town aren’t anything to New York weather, but I could go for a mojito and some sand right about now! Oh ya, love the house too! 😉

The word “classy” usually makes me cringe, because it is almost always associated with people, places or things that are anything but classy. Oscar and Annette de la Renta on the other hand are the embodiment of class. From their homes to the way they conduct their lives, both professionally and socially, they are truely classy.

The snow is starting to fly in Toronto, so Puntacana sounds realllly good right now!

Heather, I am happy for you Such a beautiful place.

I will be spending Christmas in Seagrove, Florida on the beach. Most of my family lives there, which makes things convenient. We will all be together so I am very excited!

I love the large tables in one of your photos. Easy to set up as an extra dining area.

    I love this post. Beautiful!

Oh my. So fine. I want to go too. What fabulous texture and patina.

We are off to Punta Mita (Four Seasons Hotel) in Mexico. Our family is hooked on the ceviche, relaxation, and the clock that stands still.

    Heather,

It is already so cold here. Not typical for Memphis this time of year. Love your post. I’m definitely ready for somewhere warm.

Just did a post today on getting warmed up!

    Talk soon,

    Gwen

    Heather,

How exciting …Friends of mine have actually stay with the Annette & Oscar. Such a beautiful home. I have never been to the Dominican Republic,
last winter. He loved it…along with his father.

I just might take you up on the invitation!! I have been going to Palm Beach for too many Xmas Holiday’s.
I love your HEADLINE: Changes in Latitudes. Changes in Attitude. I will be singing (in my mind) my new chant!! Enjoy!

I was just showing this house to the girls at work the other day in my Vogue book. It is perfection: grand and elegant yet still relaxed and comfortable.
