In the Mood

There is a palpable feeling of excitement in the city in anticipation of the start of Fashion Week tomorrow. I like to think of it as Style Olympics. Similar to the real Olympics but with chicer uniforms and better parties. Besides the shows, one of my favorite things is seeing the mood boards of the designers. Vogue.com has already posted some of them and I can’t wait to see more. I love that so many designers are inspired by great art and photography, in addition to their travels like Jason Wu above. Enjoy!

I love this post! I’m very excited for fashion week myself. I have RSVP’d to watch Marc Jacobs show LIVE online. I hope more designers will do live broadcasts in the future!

at the risk of sounding a fashion neophyte, have designers always released mood boards in conjunction with their shows? i mean, i know everybody has inspirations, often pinned to a board, but i didn’t know fashion designers released them to the public- i thought they were just private things…

is this new, or am i old?

What a treat to be able to see the process from inspiration to final product. I think you’d be surprised how many images from your blog probably go on to other peoples’ inspiration boards for their own living spaces. Great post.
