The Lion’s Chic Tonight

I mentioned before that The Lion is the hot restaurant du jour since its chef John DeLucie formerly worked at The Waverly Inn. While neither place is going to win any culinary awards, The Lion might just win some design awards. It has an old school New York vibe and tons of fabulous vintage photos on its walls hung gallery style with a Basquiat and a LaChapelle. Designer Meg Sharpe apparently used to work for Kelly Wearstler and wanted The Lion to look “a little Miss Havisham.” I wish more restaurants in New York looked this cool! Enjoy!

How many times can you say, I LOVE…LOVE…LOVE the design of The Lion! Thanks SO much for sharing this visual with all its masculine appeal. I would have not known about this restaurant had it not been for Habitually Chic!

    Best regards,

It reminds me a little of The Wolseley in London which is an absolute favourite! I think this could be a fantastic place for a Father’s day meal too, it has such great masculine appeal.

I have a little tin man like that in my apartment… Found him at an antique store.

Yummy!! I love the dark panelling especially! And it’s true, the whole place does have a masculine feel.

I love this design; so intimate with layers and layers of interest. Post impressionism with Andy and animal skulls. I hope the residential design rreturns to this type of layering. Super post and photos. Mary
