Le Petit Trianon Park

Visiting Versailles is exhausting. We managed to see the Belvedere and the Temple of Love which are part of the park of Le Petit Trianon but did not have the energy for the Hamlet. That just means we have to plan a return trip to see the places we missed. I absolutely loved the Belvedere but my favorite part was the lone swan who made for a perfect photo opportunity. Even the animals in France are perfect! Enjoy!

I went to the hamlet, and it was completely fascinating. As if Petit Trianon wasn’t enough – Marie Antoinette needed to have her own village!

But I didn’t get to go to the temple of love or the belvedere, which both look lovely! You win some, you lose some, I guess. Couldn’t see it all!

I’ve noticed from your posts over the last couple of days that none of your photos have tourists in them! Remarkable! When we went in August of 2007, it was completely packed!!!

Erin – Did you ever post your photos from the Hamlet? If so, I could see what I missed! Lol! I am VERY patient when it comes to waiting for tourists to move out of the shot. You can see that was impossible in the Temple of Love because as soon as one group left, another one came along so that’s one of the photos with people. It was crowded that day but by the time we made it back to the park, it was late afternoon and not as bad.

wonderful photos, I too wondered if you had special access as there are no people in your shots.

Can you just imagine Marie Antoinette dressed in her shepherdess outfit playing here?

Hi Heather–your photos are superb; it is as if I were there–the swan is the icing on the cake. Mary

Who needs the palace of Versailles when you can have a little jewel like Le Petit Trianon. It must have been wonderful for Marie Antoinette to escape from the palace every once in a while.
