Fall Fashion Transition

I absolutely love fall but always have trouble dressing for the transitional weather. One minute I’m freezing and the next I’m sweating so layers are a must but still hard to get right.  I’ve been pouring over all the images from New York, London, Milan, and Paris fashion week street fashions and now feel inspired to shake up my closet.  Although, I still wish Olivia Palermo would come over and style me!

Love the first image but I’m with you…LAYERS! Great pictures and I’m going to borrow a few ideas for fall dressing.

The fifth one from the bottom, I love! I assume that she is wearing a long skirt with an amazing print and I love the way she tied the blouse. Long skirts and breezy tops seem to be the ultimate fix to finicky weather.

Pls send Olivia over when she’s finished with you ;))

GREAT STYLE FILE, love this. Thank you, I bookmarked it.

One question to whomever: I’m starting to notice Alexa dresses like a little girl. Given she’s just about the lead style model out there, I’m wondering what that says about our aspirations right now. Anyone?

    Heather,

I could soo see you in outfit #4 with the camel coloured sweater and the matching purse. It seems exactly how I imagine your style to be…

As for me, I dream of those orange gloves in pic #1 and the long cape one of the ladies is wearing.

I’m simply glad for a warm fall so far with few layers necessary!

I’m right there with you. I always seem to wear the wrong thing at this time of the year. I’d love to hire a professional stylist. Hopefully, she would pick all the clothes from your photos. Just perfect!

Great selection. The bags jump out at me, amazing how a simple outfit comes to life with a great bag. This post makes Autumn seem exciting – thanks!

Yes, layers are a necessity at this time of year. I frequently wear a light little cardigan under another layer as so many places are still air conditioned to death. The shoes are so key this season – what makes everything look modern – and as much as I love all those high shoe/booties, I just can’t wear them. I seem to go directly from sandals to boots – although I am loving those strappy Valentino pumps. And coveting the Celine bag in the last shot.

I love the brown gloves in the first pic. I must have a dozen pairs of brown leather gloves, but none of them are that long! Must run out and get a pair!

I think the best thing about Fall is that you may choose to don a jacket but you don’t have to opt to cover your legs because it’s not freezing yet. I hang on to that for as long as I can!

That camel sweater with the dark skirt is perfection. Very inspirational.
