Rock Star Decor

Rock star Lenny Kravitz doesn’t just decorate his own homes, he actually created his own design firm, Kravitz Design. I know some readers will find this ridiculous but some creative types are creative across many different mediums.  He’s designed many of his own homes but it’s this chic and sexy townhouse in the 16th Arronsissment in Paris that  takes the gâteau.  He calls is a mix of “Miles Davis, Yves Saint Laurent, and Helmet Newton.” Every piece is the best of the best but the decor also leaves room for the eye to rest.  I also think it’s kind of fun that rockers like Lenny and Bryan Ferry who might have been smashing up the decor in hotel rooms are now designing drool worthy homes.  The times they are a changin’.

    Heather,

I visited his site not too long ago and I thought it was very interesting.. he even design wallpaper and his ultra-chic apartment in NYC is for sale! He’s having trouble to sell it though. Not everybody loves his taste.

Talking about “house for sale”, I also would like you to know that I have a very interesting post today. “The Godfather’s” house is for sale and I would love if you could take a look and let me know what you’d do with the interiors! It’s outdated, but there’s so much history to it.

I love the black drapes in the bedroom. Aside from bein gorgeous it’s actually functional- so many people want blackout drapes (guys) in their bedrooms. I could care less about blackout drapes in my bedroom but nearly every man I know is obsessed with them!

I love it. I’m surprised the others don’t. Love it!

I love it too! Makes me sad to see a rocker getting such an awesome design project….I want one! Us real designers have to slave for years to get something this extravagant…oh well, that’s what fame buys you I guess!

I hate to admit it, but it’s fabulous. Maybe I should go work for him. I’d get better projects that way… 😉

That bathroom… I tell you, I’d never leave that room! Beautifully done, Mr. Kravitz.

I love the first photo and the modern concept of a living space. The chairs are a brilliant idea. Who are they by?

Though I wouldn’t personally furnish a home in those colors it is truly fabulous. That staircase/stairhall are simply to die for and clearly are the showcase of this house. Very dramatic and so rock star!

Absolutely love the Paul Evans metal bed frame, and the Paul Evans black table with the gold framed picture.
