Silver and Sage Revisited

I posted these photos two years ago in Silver and Sage but I love them so much that I couldn’t help reposting them.  The house located in New Canaan, Connecticut was built in 1885 and belongs to designer Michelle Morgan Harrison.  It was originally featured in Connecticut Cottages & Gardens and makes me wish I had a whole house to decorate for the holidays.  I love that the colors complement the decor and aren’t too over the top.  Joyeux Noël!

The bookcases are to DIE for! I love that the books are covered and bundled with ribbon. So festive and inspiring. 🙂

I can see why you like this. The colour combination is great.

Those stockings look so nice too. They’re a nice change from the typical red and white.

That cake is making me hungry.

    Oh, my!

You’ve posted my dream! This house is like a dream! It’s so “homey” yet so stylish! The porch, the decor.. perfection! It’s a house you can’t forget about.

    Have a great week!

I’m Jewish and don’t particularly “decorate” my house for the holidays but I love looking at decorations and helping friends decorate, etc.

The green/silver/pink combination of decorations is just so gorgeous. That house is an absolute joy to look at.

BUT, what I’m wondering is: do those decorations in those colors “say Christmas” to people who celebrate? I mean, I know some hard-core decorators whose houses are red and green from top to bottom. While “I” like that green/silver/pink combination, does it “speak” to most others?

I am so happy you posted about Michelle’s home – I saw it in person a few weeks ago when we did a project for her and it is more gorgeous in person! She has amazing taste and style and I would love to have her do my home too.
