Chic in Cap D’Antibes

Second on my bucket list, after attending a Chanel fashion show, would be staying at the famous Hotel du Cap Eden Roc in Antibes.  The hotel has been a playground for the wealthy and world traveled including celebrities and royals since it was opened in 1870 by the former owner of Le Figaro newspaper. The hotel just reopened a month ago after going a four year renovation project to restore and modernize it while retaining its charm and heritage.  Photographer Slim Aarons immortalized the hotel and many of its guests over the years and it really does remain as chic now as it did then. No wonder Karl Lagerfeld chose it as the venue for his resort 2012 show. Not sure when we’ll be able to cross these two things off our list but it sure is fun to dream!

    Heather,

What a coincidence. I just got home from 2 weeks in Provence and Antibes. The Cote d’ Azure is truly a glamourous and over the top place. I drove by the Hotel several times but you cannot even get near it unless your a guest. There are guards everywhere so it was a bit daunting. Will be writing my blogs on our trip very soon.

    All the best,

    Michael Hampton

Each room is more beautiful than the next. So perfect, yet also a little cold. I love the little aqua bergere by the window… Mary

Breathtaking to say the least! Sometimes there’s just not a word perfect enough to describe what beauty has been captured!

Ohh la la…I confess…I’ve been (about 6 years ago)! it’s lovely, amazing, and wonderful! I was actually just remembering the trip I took while driving home, and then happened on your post!

Even if you don’t stay there, there are so many amazing places to visit w/in a fairly quick drive from the area…and truthfully, just experiencing it all is wonderful.
