I was running between uptown and downtown today so I’m behind on editing my photos from High Point. Until those are ready, I leave you with this chic townhouse. It’s owned by Delphine and Reed Krakoff and was just featured in Harper’s Bazaar. To read the entire story, click here. You may remember it from Vogue but I think it looks a little more alive in these photos by Douglas Friedman.
The mirrored screen is by Serge Roche but I just saw one very similar by Bungalow 5 while in High Point.
My Fiddle Leaf Fig tree isn’t looking as healthy as this one.
Delphine Krakoff’s interior design firm is Pamplemousse Design Inc.
The pillows are Pucci.
Needless to say, I’m jealous of their library.

I will have to check that article out. That looks like another Al Held painting similar to the one on the cover story of May 2011 Artchitectural Digest on Delphine and Reed Krakoff. They must have a similar painting – interesting!

Oh these are all so beautiful. I love a fireplace as well. I’m fortunate to have a gas fireplace, in my tiny San Francisco “studio with alcove” condo. It’s very “Austin Powers” turns on with the flip of a switch. It actually puts out a lot of heat, and is the only source of heat that I use. If I need to take the chill off my place I just flip the switch and 15-20 min later it’s nice and warm. It’s never cold enough to use the gas wall heater – and to be honestly it’s a little scary. A fireplace, gas or otherwise is such a treat, and I’m so grateful to have one. Sorry you don’t have one. Do you at least have a non working one, with a mantel etc? I know you know all of this, If you don’t have the mantel, you could alway fabricate your own, or check out the architectural salvage yards, and make your own fake fireplace. I know it sounds a little like bad design, but I have seen other people do this and then fill the fireplace with pillar candles, and when done right can really be a nice “stand-in” for a fire. In the warmer months you can put in a big arrangement of Magnolia branches etc. You know all this though. I just think even having the mantel itself helps to make a room feel more cozy.
