Perfectly Petite Home of Cameron Kimber

I live for the days when I find a new issue of Australia Vogue Living on the newsstand.  It’s always full of interesting and chic interiors and the September/October 2012 issue features my new favorite home.  I also found a few other pics on a blog that allow you to see a little more of the space. Designer Cameron Kimber created an oasis of calm in what was once a boring brown cottage in Sydney.  The wood paneling was white washed to open up the petite space that is punctuated to pops of black, gilt, green, and blue, and grounded with natural floor matting. You may recognize a few of the pieces that were in his old home that was featured in the July/August 2008 issue of Australia Vogue Living. It’s definitely one of those spaces that makes me want to throw everything out and start over.  Thanks Cameron.

Oh I agree 100%. I love Australian Vogue Living; the interiors have a great energy and sense of humour, and they feature wonderful artists too.
Have to run out and find the latest one now…

Having saved the 2008 issue and drooled over his condo, I now feel I can scan it and admire his NEW digs. He has a way with antiques and colo(u)r that is fresh and it was great for you to share this photo shoot. Where will he be in four more years? I guess that is a question we should all be asking ourselves, especially in election season. Thanks HC!

I featured this story and more of the beautiful Janie’s photos from Bumble’s blog on my own blog recently. Nice to see that you have Vogue Living over there. It’s highly regarded in London, too.
Cameron’s going from strength to strength, and I wish him all the very best.
All the very best to you too for your new book. It looks superb! Send a copy to VL: they may review it now!

The ART! the black & white check library! the garden! the MIRROR over the mantel! It is all amazingly gorgeous; traditional yet of the moment. I would love to see more of his work. Thank you for the shot of inspiration. Any mention of the 18th c. portrait? Artist-Nicholas de Largilliere(?) or who is might be?
