NYFW Fall 2013: Boast

Someone commented that the Boast presentation at the Harvard Club looked like something from The Royal Tanenbaums. Since Boast is about to celebrate its 40th anniversary this year, I’d say that the reverse might be true.  The brand was founded in 1973 by Greenwich tennis pro Bill St. John and soon became a favorite of the preppy set. It fell by the wayside until a group that included Ryan Babenzien and Andy Spade thought Boast was right for a revival. Oh, and that’s a Japanese Maple Leaf and not what you thought it was so get your mind out of the gutter!

I’m not familiar with Boast but I like it. It reminds me of what Ambercrombie & Fitch looked like 20 some years ago.
