The Boss of Wu

You could tell something was up at the Hugo Boss by Jason Wu show today based on the front row. Diane Kruger, Reese Witherspoon, and Gwyneth Paltrow (photo by @bagsnob) were just down the row from Gerard Butler and Scott Eastwood.  The clothes that came down the runway won’t just appeal to celebrities though. They are some of the best I’ve seen this fashion week and the midi length skirts and texture blocking are on point for autumn. It’s always hard to get the real feel based on the front on runway shots so I’ve interspersed them with some instagram photos to show the movement of some of my favorite looks.

Love this collection. Something about the lengths and shapes look like they will be very flattering on a lot of women. Very pretty too! Love seeing all your snaps backstage and Instagram too. Fun.

I’ve always loved a black shoe. My loafers now and in college. In July 1985, my bridesmaids wore black patent pumps with ivory/nude mid length cotton dresses.
I now imagine using a large scale plaid with a complimentary solid on my next upholstery project – thank you!

Wu da Boss also would have been a great title – thought he did a beautiful job with the collection – lots of clean lines and tailoring.

I see a hint of the 1920s inspiration here with hemline and fitting..plus boot accessories. Wonderful!

I love this collection. It shows a mix of feminine and masculine design which has always been my favorite combination. Thank you for writing about it.
