Brass is the New Black

Brass has been hot since Jenna Lyons used it in her brownstone bathroom but it really seems to be becoming less of a trend and more of a classic.  I just realized this morning that I posted it in the home of Joseph Dirand (more of an antiqued brass in the kitchen) this week and The Dean Hotel. It’s also prominently displayed on the cover of the May 2014 issue of World of Interiors. This bathroom designed by Maddox Creative is also clad completely in marble like the Joseph Dirand’s bathroom with his being very slick and contemporary and this one leaning more toward traditional.  Perhaps brass and marble is the look we’ll be seeing more of going forward.

Seems like it’s always been a classic in Europe. Beautiful post.

Brass is (and has been for centuries) always chic. Centuries old brass and new brass add both light and heft to rooms. Love that bathroom, but nothing beats early 20th c. european marble and brass bathrooms.
