Carrier & Company’s Chic Sitting Room

I had the pleasure of sitting at Aerin Lauder‘s table at the Kips Bay Decorator Show House President’s dinner last week. Also seated at the table were Mara Miller and Jessie Carrier of Carrier & Company. Jessie showed me some pictures of their sitting room and I immediately loved it.  What’s funny though is that it looked about four times the size in the iPhone photos. In reality, it’s a petite space with two doorways and a huge window with Juliet balcony. Clearly the mirrored panels and reflective surfaces help open up the space dramatically. The marbelized gilt wallpaper from Calico Wallpaper was custom created to fit each panel and creates a luxe backdrop for the Natasha Law painting. It’s another one of those rooms that  you just want to hang out in all day. It’s also going in my file for my future closet/sitting room. It’s beyond chic.

The Natasha Law painting Lilac Dress on Yellow is from Voltz Clarke

The vintage brass lounge chair is from Pegboard Modern and the Calla floor lamp is from Bernd Goeckler.

All the fabrics are from Pierre Frey

The antiqued mirrored panels are from Stanley Schoen.

The Silas Seandel Terra cocktail table is from Kerson Gallery. The flowers are from Raul Avila

The Spoonback slipper chairs are from S. Julian

The console table is from Kerson Gallery

The hand tufted rug is from Doris Leslie Blau

The daybed is from Nualla Workshop

French Restoration Period cabinet is from David Duncan Antiques.

The agate stone side table is from Matthew Studios

Great pic with the vanishing threshold to the hydrangeas.

Is there a double axis with them, sitting on the sofa, in the mirror?

    Lovely.

Heather the palette in this room is incredible and the marbled paper just stunning. I have to say that I am astonished by the quality of art the designers have chosen for their settings, they all get it, the importance!

Heather, my friends and I visited the show house on Saturday. It was fabulous, thanks for letting us know about it. It worked out beautifully because we happened to be staying at the New York Palace for the weekend!

I am not mad into yellow, but this room is amazing. I adore the mirror wall and the beautiful console table, not to talk about the wallpapers… Of course I would immediatelly change that yellow picture but apart from that I think I’d be ready to take it over.
