Masterful Mix in Madrid

Nuevo Estilo never disappoints and this latest apartment they posted in Madrid is one of my new favorites. The space hadn’t been touched since the 1930’s so designeMiguel García de Valcárcel was able to open up the the rooms to let in more light.  He says of the project, “The important thing was to preserve the flavor of old floor, avoiding excessive reform.” I especially love how he’s mixed modern elements with antiques while keeping a light feel overall.  The neutral palette also gives the apartment a harmonious feel and the herringbone floors further unify the rooms. Makes me want to go immediately declutter my own apartment the minute I get back to New York as well!

My kind of design–it seems as if each element acts as sculpture. Those brass candlesticks are period Louis XV and Regence! I love this space. I wonder what street it is located on? The green of the trees seen through the windows acts like paintings.
    I want this space. Mary
