Valentino: At the Emperor’s Table

I was very excited to see on photographer Oberto Gili‘s Instagram today that he took the photos for the upcoming book, Valentino: At the Emperor’s Table, that also includes Andre Leon Talley as author.  If you’ve seen the Valentino documentary Valentino: The Last Emperor, you know that Valentino is a consummate host and party planner, or at least his people are.

The book which will be published by Assouline on October 28, 2014 is an “invitation into his refined world of graceful and cultured living. The remarkable collection of table settings and objets d’art housed in his five residences, in Gstaad, London, Rome, New York, and Paris, as well as on his yacht, evoke the grandeur in which he lives and are presented in this first-ever edition with photographs by Oberto Gili. Recipes by Mr. Garavani’s personal chefs are also included and bring readers one step closer to discovering his extraordinary surroundings.” At $150, it’s not cheap but it’s a lot cheaper than those couture dresses I posted last week.

It’s also a good excuse to post more photos of his chateau outside Paris that was published in Architectural Digest. To see the whole story, click here

Bon Week-end !
