Everyone always asks me what I pack and for this trip to Costa Rica, it was all sleeveless dresses and beach cover ups. The weather has been in the 90’s which isn’t that bad once you get used to it or can jump in the pool.  Sunscreen is also extremely important since we’re so close to the equator.

Here’s a look at a few of the things I brought along this trip which include a few pieces from J.McLaughlin.  Lucky for you, they are having a great sale to get your summer shopping started. Shop J.McLaughlin’s Exclusive Sale to receive 25% off all full priced orders until May 3, 2015. You can also receive an additional 5% off with promo code JMCLCHIC. Happy Shopping!

J.McLaughlin Amie Linen Dress – I love this lightweight linen dress in white since it’s cool and can be accessorized in a million different ways. Being able to wear something a few times on a trip is very important especially when you are only packing a carry on bag.

J.McLaughlin Everywhere Tote – This tote is my new favorite summer bag. It comes in 10 different colors and packs flat for traveling.  It’s perfect for men and women too.

J.McLaughlin Neo Ikat Scarf – A scarf comes in handy in the air conditioning so I suggest packing one. I love the ikat pattern on this one but they have dozens of other designs too.

J.McLaughlin Palm River Hat – The hat arrived after I took this photo but it is a necessary accessory in the bright sun of Costa Rica.  I definitely suggest packing one.

Celine Sunglasses – I packed two pair of sunglasses and my friend packed four.  Nice weather is a chance to change up your look with different shapes, sizes, and colors of sunglasses like this oversized pair from Celine.

J.Crew White Fringe Sandals – This fun fringed pair of sandals is a fun addition to any outfit but unfortunately doesn’t seem to be available online at the moment.  But as you know, J.Crew offers a multitude of shoe options so I’m sure there will be plenty of other options to finish off this look.

Ring – I’ve had this Marcia Moran ring for year and while she doesn’t offer the same exact one any longer, there are still plenty of options to choose from on her site.

Aerin Beauty Gradual Tan for Face & Body – There is nothing worse than showing up to a resort pale white so I used this self tanner from Aerin before my trip.  I love the subtle color and that you can use it on your face and body.

Clinique Sun Broad Spectrum SPF 45 Sunscreen – I like this sunscreen in a stick form so it doesn’t leak all over my beach bag.  As I mentioned before, you definitely need to pack high SPF sunscreen for Costa Rica and this one is perfect.
