Whether you will be in New York City for the Fourth of July holiday or out on Long Island, I highly recommend you make time to visit the Hermione. The tall ship is an “exact replica of General Lafayette’s 18th-century ship called the Hermione. Today, the majestic vessel is the largest and most authentically built Tall Ship in the last 150 years.” The Hermione began her voyage in France, launching an adventure that comes to the USA this summer for an unprecedented voyage.

The ship is currently docked at South Street Seaport in lower Manhattan where it will remain for Independence Day. Then it will travel to Greenport, Long Island to celebrate the end of their Tall Ships Challenge.  While the Hermione will only be in Greenport on July 6th and 7th, many other tall ships will be in harbor from the 4th of July thorough July 7th.

After Greenport, the ship will travel north to Boston, Massachusetts, Castine, Maine, and finally Lunenburg/Halifa, Novia Scotia before heading back to France where she originated.

These events look perfect for kids of all ages including adults. Happy long holiday weekend!
