I can’t think of a chicer way to start a Monday than attending the Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2016 runway show at The Frick Collection. It was the perfect venue and the intimate space meant that every attendee had a front row seat. I was able to see all the pleating details and embroidery up close as well as the gorgeous hair and makeup. It’s been described as a younger look but the even the pieces that were translucent or sheer still looked demure.

“In fashion it is important to keep a little mystery. I design clothes that are seductive and sensual, but I always leave something for the imagination. Fashion, after all, is about fantasy.” – Carolina Herrera

I’m not even a fan of pink but this collection has even me rethinking the multiple shades, that Mrs. Herrera called her “rose period.” I am also putting my name on the list for the clear sandals with suede ankle wraps that were the perfect finishing touch.

To quote Maggie Prescott in Funny Face, “Banish the black, burn the blue, and bury the beige. From now on, girls, think pink!”
