Holiday events start right after the Thanksgiving holiday for me so this weekend I’m laying out some of my looks. There is nothing worse than getting ready for a party and realizing you are missing a key element.

My new go to dress this season is this black and gold J. McLaughlin Kaya Swing Dress. It’s super comfortable and barely wrinkles so it’s perfect if you’re traveling over the holidays. The Emilie Dress is a sleeveless version for those of you in warmer climates.

Also from J. McLaughlin is the fabulous Ellery Fur Scarf. It’s great for day to night dressing but more importantly, it’s very warm and cozy.

The Kelly Quilted Clutch is the perfect evening bag. It even has a gold strap to keep your hands free during a cocktail party. In addition to black, it’s also available in silver, gold, and bronze to match all your holiday outfits.

As a special treat, J. McLaughlin giving away a $500 gift card to one lucky HC reader. To enter, please visit the J.McLaughlin online store and leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite J. McLaughlin item through 11:59pm on Sunday, November 22, 2015. A winner will be chosen Monday at random. Good luck!

Since the dress is so covered up, I’ll pair it with my suede Elaina Lace Up Booties. They look great with bare legs but you can also wear them with tights. My favorite ones are the Luxe Leg Tights from Spanx since they never slide down.

To combat tired looking skin during the holiday part season, I’ll be slathering on Chanel Sublimage L’Essence every morning and night.

I love a pop of red on my nails when I wear black and one of my favorite colors is Jungle Red from Nars. It also comes in lipstick too.

Unfortunately, my cocktail ring is no longer available but there are plenty of other options here.

Happy Holidays!
