1-golden-globes-2016-alicia-vikander-louis-vuitton The Golden Globes mix television and movie stars at tables which alcohol which always makes it feel like the most fun awards show. It starts off the season and gives us an idea of who might win the Sag Awards and Oscars. It also gives us an idea of who we can count on to bring their A game to the red carpet.

I thought Alicia Vilander looked stunning in Louis Vuitton and not overdone like so many at award shows.  For her and her Charlotte Tilbury make up, less is more.

Saoirse Ronan in Saint Laurent Haute Couture looked like a gorgeous Greek goddess. I wish I had a photo of the back of her hair because it was the perfect complement to the dress.

Taraji P. Henson also looked like a goddess in white Stella McCartney.

Best dressed couple award goes to Fargo actress Kirsten Dunst in Valentino and Garrett Hedland. I think actress look best when they are a bit more simple and chic.
5-golden-globes-2016-caitriona-balfe
I don’t Caitriona Balfeor what she stars in or what she’s wearing but I think she looks great.

Another simple and chic look is Sophia Bush in back Narciso Rodriguez.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus never makes a mistake on the red carpet and once again, she looks gorgeous in Lanvin. And proves you can mix blue and black.

Bryce Dallas Howard in a Jenny Packham dress that she admitted she bought at Neiman Marcus because she wanted to have more than one size 6 option.

Julianne Moore came with Tom Ford as her date and wore one of his gorgeous gowns.

Blue was a popular color at the Golden Globes and winner Kate Winslet wore a Ralph Lauren gown in royal blue.

Gina Rodriguez in another beautiful blue gown by Zac Posen.

It’s nice to see Jennifer Jason Leigh back on the red carpet and I loved her icy blue belted dress.

I look forward to seeing Malin Ackerman in Billions next week and loved her in another icy blue hue by Reem Acra.

Jamie Alexander’s green Genny gown reminded me of a Sonia Delauney artwork.

There was maybe a little too much going on with Jennifer Lopez’s Giambattista Valli gown but I loved the color and her new shorter hair style.
16-golden-globes-2016-america-ferrera-jenny-packhamI also thought America Ferrera looked lovely in yellow Jenny Packham.
17-golden-globes-2016-emmy-rossum-
Red was also a popular color and Emmy Rossum looked great in Armani Privé.

While I love Jennifer Lawrence’s red Dior Haute Couture gown and think the cut outs are perfect for her age but the necklace and hair are too old for her.

I don’t know who made Amy Adams’ tangerine dress and flowing hair look lovely and relaxed.

Olivia Wilde is statuesque in shimmering Michael Kors but I wish they hadn’t pulled her hair back in that weird low ponytail.

I thought Kate Bosworth in Dolce & Gabbana looked even better caught mid walk on Instagram since you could see movement and shimmer unlike this pose.
23-golden-globes-2016-cate-blanchett-givenchy
She rarely misses but when she does, but I don’t love Cate Blanchett in this pale pink Givenchy number.
24-golden-globes-2016-brie-larson-calvin-klein
There’s something about Brie Larson in Calvin Klein that reminds me of the bikini that Carrie Fisher wore in Star Wars but she’s adorable so it works.

Who did you think was best dressed?
