I ran into Newell Turner yesterday at the press preview for Manus x Machina at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. In case you haven’t heard, Newell has revived Metropolitan Home magazine. The front cover says, “For the Love of City Living” and the homes featured are urban but not completely modern and contemporary which I appreciate.  My favorite belongs to Hanya Yanagihara, the author of the award winning book A Little Life. It’s filled with two of my favorite things, a gallery wall and books. Zadie Smith once suggested that reading books is essential to being a writer and it’s no wonder that Hanya has written one of the most important books of the last few years. Her bookshelves contain over 12,000 books arranged alphabetically by author which is a feat unto itself. I just read that she left T magazine so perhaps she’s about to start a new book.  Can’t wait to find out Metropolitan Home is on select newsstands now.
