It’s fashion week in New York right now. I also know I’ve posted a lot about clothing and accessories lately so I’m going to try to make sure I balance my coverage with some great design posts to make everyone happy.

The October issue of Architectural Digest came out this week and dare I say, it might be better than the September issue. One great feature is the West Side apartment of actress Jessica Chastain decorated by Carrier & Company. While the gorgeous design is sophisticated and layered, the story behind the home was the most inspiring aspect.

“When she first came to see her current home, Chastain realized that, as starving students, she and her friends often went to the restaurant directly across the street. “My grandmother would send me $20 once a week for the baked ziti. So every Saturday night, as a big splurge, we’d go there. I didn’t know until we saw the apartment, and I said, ‘Oh, my God, it’s right here.’”

Sometimes things are just meant to be. To read more and see all credits, you can read the story online or pick up the October 2016 issue of Architectural Digest.
