Since almost all of fashion week moved downtown, it’s extra special when something is scheduled on the Upper East Side. On Sunday, Veronica Beard co-designers and sisters-in-law Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard partnered with interiors and lifestyle designer Ken Fulk to create the ultimate throwback experience on the lower level to celebrate the brand’s first store opening at 988 Madison Avenue.

Inspired by the concept of a party girl’s basement apartment, the installation was a tribute to all things classic Americana, bringing nostalgic moments to life as it transported its guests into the immersive world of Veronica Beard. Partygoers were led down a staircase painted with stars and stripes before entering rooms filled with leopard print wallpaper and video montages of classic American fashion moments from decades past. With a refrigerator filled with champagne and shoes, PBR in koozies, roller-skating check-in attendants, and pizza delivery boys serving Dominos, the soiree was a true basement throwdown.

I’m really bummed that I missed the party because I was in Greenwich Sunday but lucky for me and you, the installation on the lower level of the Veronica Beard store will be open to the public until October 15, 2016.
