Dreaming of Spring

There are 49 days until the official start of spring but we are really only a month away from warmer weather. Until then, I’m enjoying all shades of green from deep emerald to chartreuse and pale celadon like those in this Fifth Avenue apartment by Jeffrey Bilhuber. The pied-à-terre overlooking Central Park is featured in the January/February 2018 issue of Veranda and used to be the home of legendary singer Diana Ross. A photo of her hangs in the study as tribute. The green velvet walls and Pierre Frey fabric banquettes in the dining room must be a lovely place to dine when the city is cold and grey. I can’t create a green room in my own apartment but I can at least buy lots of flowers to pretend it’s spring.

I remember seeing Diana Ross in front of the Sherry Netherland many times. The occasion that I most recall, is doing the big garbage strike in the 80’s. She came outside and hand delivered hot drinks to picketers on Fifth Avenue! This apartment is GLORIOUS!!! I imagine Ms. Ross would be VERY happy here!
