Things are starting to get back to normal in Montecito, California after the recent fires and mudslides. My friend’s family was finally allowed to return to their home and he sends me periodic updates of the construction and clean up. It’s such a beautiful place that it’s no wonder that so many people have made the area home.

The March 2018 issue of Architectural Digest features the Montecito home of “mega talent manger” Scooter Braun and his family. Scooter represents Justin Bieber among others so he’s doing ok. The home built in 1916 was renovated to be more modern and light without losing its historic charm. The real reason everyone moves to Montecito though are the beautiful weather and outdoor space. This property includes a driveway flanked by 100 year old trees and five acres of beautiful landscape and gardens. No wonder they chose it as a weekend getaway from Los Angeles.

I hope Montecito continues to recover so I can return for a visit. It really is a magical place.
